In this task I will showcase my final poster idea for my game discussing the ideas that I included, why I included them and what I wish to have included to help you understand the main idea I was trying to present in this drawing.
In this part of the poster I drew a detectives desk to showcase how the detective is trying to solve a case, as you can see there are two items that sit atop the desk. One is a lamp and the other is a camera, this is to help the person who looks at it to see the time period that I was attempting to depict. Both are done in a 1940's era style, I have also drawn the word help to help show some sort of mystery and danger. It could relate back to the desk with someone being stuffed in there or it could just be a warning, placing that word there allows for multiple theories to start spawning about the game and shows some mystery. I also tried to make the wood look quite old and scratched.
In the image below you can see three different objects, the main object being a magnifying glass, this again shows that it is a detective styled game and to present some sort of mystery. I included hieroglyphics to present that sense of mystery again as well. Above that you can see three scratch marks and a hand to the left with blood dripping down off of it. This presents a horror aspect to the poster.
This image shows a main enemy type, I tried to draw a weird creature with human like appearances that seems quite malnourished. This adds to the horror aspect and once again creates mystery of what is this creature. Behind it can be seen three words that say "the supreme light" as if it has been etched into a wall by someone who is dying. This could be linked to the creature shown in front of it or it could be something else entirely but it applies a mysterious and horror aspect once again.
In this picture I am showcasing the detectives upper body, as you can see from his facial features he is quite unhealthy having a wide face but being able to see his cheekbones as if he hasn't had a meal in a while or to showcase that he his ill. If you look at his eyes you can also see they are quite gloomy and dark as though he has been staying up into the early hours of the morning. He also has a 5 0'clock shadow to show how he hasn't looked after his appearance. In his mouth you can see him smoking a stobock cigarette and his pocket on his shirt is a zippo lighter. This shows that he is a smoker and from his unhealthy appearance it can be connected that he is a heavy smoker. His tie is also loose and the collar is apart to again showcase how he not looking after himself.
As you move down his body you can see a holster with a weapon in it and his hand in a ready position about to shoot something. To the left you can see that he has his vest untucked yet on the right it is tucked in, this once again showcases the scruffy appearance he has. In his pocket a packet of cigarettes can be seen sticking out.
This is the full and final poster, as you can see there is a hospital bed in the bottom left corner with blood dripping out of the blanket leading to a skull which sits in the pool of dripping blood with a candle lit up on its head. Once again showing a sense of mystery and death. To the right near the detectives holster a police badge can be seen to show that he is a qualified detective and written on it is his name (although it is quite hard to see.) On a final note, above the detective is a singular light, this is to show a dark and gritty environment with only very little light left linking together with the words on the right.
As for the art style, I chose a style that would suit me, some features are quite exaggerated like the body size compared to the leg size but this is due to the skills I have mixing together with the style I wanted. There is also a heavy amount of shading around a lot of the objects. If you notice it is all around the edges and lines of objects or where objects overlap other ones like the pants over the shoes. I chose to have a heavy amount of shading to exaggerate the grittiness of the world and to emphasise the horror aspect I was attempting to give. I would have liked to have included a corridor in my setting with a black doorway in the background of the detective but due to my skills in drawing I had to scrap that idea so instead decided to draw different objects that could help to showcase my game. This shows how I improvised and sacrificed one good idea to come up with another good idea. I have also kept it colourless because I don't wish for any colours to be in my game, this is to add to the melancholy environment and keep the fear factor high.

Detective
After getting feedback from my teacher I went back and drew three separate images to express my ideas in an easier way so people can understand them more I also decided to add my own logo to the pictures. Below is my detective and as you can see he has undergone some changes, he has a more cartoon like style instead of being realistic, the body proportions are more matched instead of being quite unusual sizes and he has more detail applied to him.
Environment
This is my environment, as you can see there is more to gather from this drawing than the original as you can see a corner of the hospital and check out what the world would look like in game, as you can see it has more environmental objects such as the IV and drip bags, the shelf with a plant on it, the window which showcases that it is at night and more. To create this image I used the two point perspective, that I had learned from class, to create my art.
Items
Below is all the items that the detective has, I wanted an original idea that looked more unique for people to see instead of just drawings of the different items so I drew a detectives desk and coat rack to give allow whoever sees it to notice that this is about a detective.
Below is a camera, this shows that he takes pictures of crime scenes for the public to see. The style of the camera is done to represent the time frame that the game would be set in.
Below is the detectives cigarettes, I decided to give the brand a name which you can see and drew two cigarettes next to the packet to symbolise that they are cigarettes and nothing else.
This is the coat rack which holds the detectives coat and hat.
This is two photos of a crime scene, it shows that the detective is working on a case of some sort and that he has a two pieces of evidence.
Below is the detectives wallet, it shows his name so the person who sees it knows who they would be playing as.
Below is the detectives magnum, it shows that he uses weapons and will get his hands dirty if he needs to. Underneath it you can also see a confidential pack, this emphasises the fact that he works on different cases.
Below is the detectives belt and holster, it shows where he keeps his magnum when he goes out solving cases.
